Jeff Phillips is one of our most amazing planetary astrophotographers, with images regularly appearing in Sky & Telescope magazine. At our December meeting, he’ll show us how he does it.
Jeff writes: “High speed planetary cameras have revolutionized imaging the Moon and planets. Backyard astronomers today can get better images of the planets than professional astronomers could hope for in the days of film. I’ll share some of my favorite images, I’ll talk about how I take these pictures, and I’ll talk a little about some of the new software that makes these images easier to produce.”
At the meeting we will also have a slide show of the month’s astrophotos from other EAS members.
The meeting is at 7:00 on Thursday, December 18th at the Eugene Science Center planetarium, 2300 Leo Harris Parkway in Eugene (behind Autzen Stadium).
